According to provisional customs data, India exported 1.96 million mt pellets in Q2 FY 2019 (July-September 2018). Compared to 1.83 million mt in Q1 FY 2019, the export level has increased 5.5 percent quarter on quarter. India reportedly exported 3.79 million mt of pellets in H1 FY 2019.
The destination countries in H1 FY 2019 included China (2.66 million mt, 70 percent), South Korea (0.42 million mt, 11 percent), Vietnam (0.17 million mt, 4 percent), Japan (0.11 million mt, 3 percent), Mexico (0.06 million mt, 2 percent), and others (0.37 million mt, 10 percent).
Brahmani River Pellets (BRPL) exported 1.02 million mt (70 percent), Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL) exported 0.85 million mt (22 percent), KIOCL exported 0.74 million mt (20 percent), Rashmi Metaliks exported 0.38 million mt (10 percent), Essar Steel exported 0.32 million mt (8 percent), Bagadiya Brothers exported 0.26 million mt (7 percent), Jindal SAW exported 0.16 million mt (4 percent), and Arya Iron & Steel exported 0.06 million mt (2 percent).
