India-based SSWL’s net sales up 12.2 percent in June quarter

The Indian steel rim producer Steel Strips Wheels Ltd (SSWL) has announced that it registered net sales of INR 716.5 million ($13.07 million) in June, down 18.4 percent compared to the previous month and decreasing by 7.6 percent year on year.

In terms of units sold, in June SSWL sold 769,000 steel wheel rims, falling by 19.5 percent compared to May and down 10.3 percent compared to June 2011. Meanwhile, the company's wheel rim exports increased to 142,586, up 4.6 percent year on year.

In the second quarter of the current year, SSWL's net sales amounted to INR 2.54 billion ($46.4 million), up 12.2 percent compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
