Hunan Province-based Chinese steelmaker Hunan Valin Iron & Steel Co. (Hunan Valin Steel) has announced respective pig iron, crude steel and finished steel outputs of 1.63 million mt, 2.0 million mt and 1.86 million mt for February this year, decreasing by 4.1 percent, 6.1 percent and 5.6 percent, respectively, compared to January.
Meanwhile, in order to reduce the pressure from increasing inventories, Hunan Valin Steel plans to implement 21-day maintenance work on a 1,080 cubic meter blast furnace in March.
In 2019, Hunan Valin Steel’s crude steel output reached 24.31 million mt, as SteelOrbis reported earlier.
