Iranian steel producer Hormozgan Steel will complete the construction of its steel plant by March this year.

"Construction of Hormozgan Steel will be completed by the end of the [Iranian] year [i.e. in March 2010] and then we will start cold and hot commissioning respectively," said project administrator Alireza Khayat recently, according to the Iranian Mining and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

Hormozgan Steel, located close to Bandar Abbas city in the Persian Gulf, will have an annual capacity of 1.5 million of slab with its new steel plant. The producer's two DRI modules, each with an annual capacity of 800,000 metric tons, have already been commissioned, in March and November 2009.
