Hebei is China’s third biggest steel exporting province in Q1

According to the data from Shijiazhuang customs, in the first quarter of the current year China's Hebei Province exported 1.222 million mt of steel products, ranking third among Chinese provinces in terms of steel export volume, with the exports totaling a value of $970 million. China's top steel exporting province in Q1 was Jiangsu, with 1.756 million mt, followed by Liaoning, with 1.331 million mt of steel exports.
 
Hebei Province's steel exports were at around 300,000 mt in both January and February this year, while the export volume surged in March to 604,000 mt, up by 50.8 percent on year-on-year basis and up 99.2 percent month on month.
 
However, steel export prices from Hebei declined throughout Q1, falling by 6.9 percent, 3.4 percent and 2.1 percent respectively on month-on-month basis in January, February and March. The average steel export price from Hebei Province in March was $781/mt.
