Chinese steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Group announced that its subsidiary Tang Steel's sales of welding quality wire rod amounted to 115,100 mt in the first half of 2011, indicating an increase of 58,000 mt year on year. The mill reached their sales target of 50,000 mt welding quality wire rod one year ahead of schedule.
Xuan Steel, another subsidiary of Hebei Iron and Steel Group, sell 190,694 mt welding quality wire rod in the same period, with an increase of 51,200 mt year on year. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these sales totaled RMB 3.58 million ($0.554 million).
