Handan Steel produces 30,000 mt of X80 line pipe steel in Jan-Feb

Hebei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Group has announced that in January-February this year its Hebei-based subsidiary Handan Iron and Steel Co. (Hansteel) produced over 58,000 mt of line pipe steel. In particular, its output of X80 steel grade line pipe steel produced for the third phase of China’s West-East Natural Gas Transmission Projectwas over 30,000 mt, accounting for more than 50 percent of the total output.
 
In the first two months of this year, the line pipe steel produced by the company included thicknesses of 5.6-18.4 mm and widths of 1,050-1,750 mm, as well as grades L245, X42, X52, X56, X60, X80 and J55.
 
In 2012, the total line pipe steel output of Handan Steel amounted to over 300,000 mt, with 144,000 mt of the total supplied for the West-East Natural Gas Transmission Project.
