Guihang Special Steel speeds up work on upgrading project

Work has recently picked up speed on the project carried out by Chinese steelmaker Guihang Special Steel Co. to upgrade its special steel production base at Qianjiang Industrial Park in the district of Guichi in China's Anhui Province.

The upgrade work is expected to cost a total investment of RMB 6 billion ($920 million). Upon completion, the annual production capacity of special steel products is expected to reach 3 million mt.
 
The project includes the construction of two blast furnaces, three converters and a sintering shop. The construction of the first blast furnace is expected to be completed in August this year.
