Graphite electrode prices in China continue upward trend in October

According to a graphite electrode report from IC Carbon, domestic graphite electrode prices in China are showing a continued uptrend in October. Prices for HP (high-powered) 450 graphite grade were reportedly around the average price of RMB 51,000/mt ($7,424/mt) ex-warehouse in early September. At the time, UHP (ultra-high powered) 600 graphite were at RMB 100,000/mt ($14,556/mt) ex-warehouse.

The report noted the continued upward trend that now has HP grade reportedly at an average price of RMB 64,000/mt ($9,249/mt) and UHP at an average price of RMB 122,000/mt ($17,630/mt), all prices ex-warehouse. The average HP price has increased $1,825/mt (25 percent) while the UHP price has increased $3,074/mt  (21 percent) compared to a month ago.
