Grange Resources sees reduced iron ore concentrate output in 2013

Australia-based magnetite iron ore pellet producer Grange Resources has announced its production results for the quarter ended December 31, 2013.

In the given quarter, Grange produced 632,906 mt of iron ore concentrate, up 22.2 percent compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year. In 2013, the company's iron ore concentrate output decreased to 1.95 million mt, down 7.87 percent year on year.

The company also reported an increase in its iron ore pellet production for the quarter in question. Grange's iron ore pellet production in the quarter amounted to 619,414 mt, up 24.7 percent year on year. In 2013, Grange achieved iron ore pellet production of 1.91 million mt, falling 4.4 percent compared to 2012.
 
Grange stated that in the December quarter pellet prices amounted to US$149.39/ mt FOB Port Latta, adding that the continued strengthening of iron ore product prices and improved sales delivered strong quarterly revenues.
