The government of the western Indian state of Goa has deferred the 29th round of auctions of iron ore lying at idle dumps, a government official said on Wednesday, September 27.
The official said that the one million mt of iron ore at various dumps had been scheduled for a three-phase auction on October 4, 5 and 6 has been deferred to October 11,12 and 13, though he did not cite reasons for it.
The last date for inspection of the dumps by prospective bidders was September 25, and purchase of the material from the dumps will be for domestic use and cannot be diverted for export.
