The Global Forum on Steel Excess Capacity ministerial-level meeting which was scheduled to be held on June 20 in Paris has been cancelled, due to the rising trade tensions between the US and other countries, according to media reports. The forum plans to reschedule the meeting in September.

The forum was formed in 2016 by major steel producing countries like the US, Europe, China, Japan, Brazil, India and South Africa and the first meeting was held in Berlin in November 2017.
