According to the data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), Germany's passenger car output in April this year rose by two percent year on year to 472,200 units. April was the fifth consecutive month in which Germany's passenger car output increased on year-on-year basis.
During the month in question, new passenger car registrations in Germany increased by three percent year on year to 266,380 units, while passenger car exports rose by two percent year on year reaching 358,000 units.
In the January-April period of 2011, Germany's total passenger car output reached 1,972,800 units, up seven percent, passenger car exports amounted to 1,512,600 units, up eight percent, while new registrations increased by 11 percent to 1,029,800 units, all compared to the corresponding period of 2010.
