In December last year, the index of producer prices for industrial products in Germany increased by one percent compared to the same month of 2015 and was up 0.4 percent compared to November, according to the country's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). In November last year, Germany's industrial producer prices had increased by 0.1 percent year on year.
In December, prices in the energy sector increased by 0.2 percent, while prices of non-durable consumer goods rose by 2.1 percent and prices of intermediate goods moved up by 1.1 percent, all year on year. Meanwhile, in the month in question, the prices of capital goods and durable consumer goods rose by 0.6 percent and 1.1 percent respectively, both compared to December 2015.
