Gerdau settles union contracts with two of its North American mills

Gerdau Ameristeel Corporation now officially has all of its North American United Steel Workers (USW) union contracts in place, as the company has just reached agreements with the USW at its Sand Springs, Oklahoma and Calvert City, Kentucky steel mills.

The new Oklahoma contract is effective from September 28, 2007 through March 2, 2011, while the Kentucky steel mill's new contract is valid from October 1, 2007 through April 22, 2011.  Gerdau Ameristeel's vice president and chief human resources officer commented that the company has settled eight labor contracts this year.
