The new Oklahoma contract is effective from September 28, 2007 through March 2, 2011, while the Kentucky steel mill's new contract is valid from October 1, 2007 through April 22, 2011.  Gerdau Ameristeel's vice president and chief human resources officer commented that the company has settled eight labor contracts this year.
