The government of Argentina will call for bids in works destined to reverse the flow of natural gas on a major pipeline, as an alternative to connect it to the Nestor Kirchner gas pipeline, which links the gas fields of Vaca Muerta, in the south of the country, to the city of Buenos Ayres.

The Northern Gas Pipeline was used in the import of gas from Bolivia, but with the declining production in the country, it will be used to transport gas to the north of the country and possibly export the Argentine gas to Chile and to Brazil.

With investments of $560 million, the project will require an additional 150 kilometers of pipeline to conclude the link, with a supply of steel plates estimated at 63,000 mt.

The Nestor Kirchner pipeline had its pipes produced by Tenaris, with plates supplied by Usiminas.
