France's steel product import value up 5.9 percent in 2018

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in 2018 France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €9.6 billion, increasing by 5.9 percent year on year.

During 2018, France imported €1.88 billion of steel pipes and tubes - up 6.3 percent, €458.2 million of cold rolled steel bars - up 19.6 percent, €739.7 million of cold rolled steel strip - rising by 13.8 percent, €435.8 million of cold drawn wire - growing by 13.4 percent, and €1.8 billion of metal structures and parts - increasing by 9.6 percent, all compared to 2017.
