France's steel product import value up 24.22 percent in 2017

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in 2017 France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €9.11 billion, increasing by 24.22 percent year on year.

During the period in question, France imported €1.76 billion of steel pipes and tubes - up 13.6 percent, €647.4 million of cold rolled steel strip - rising by 26.3 percent, €382.96 million of cold drawn wire - growing by 14.1 percent, €379.78 million of cold rolled steel bars - up 14.1 percent, and €1.61 billion of metal structures and parts - increasing by 9.7 percent, all compared to 2016.
