France's steel product import value down 2.4 percent in Q1

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the January-March period this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €2.49 billion, decreasing by 2.4 percent year on year.

In the given period, France imported €491.9 million of steel pipes and tubes - down 0.8 percent, €129.8 million of cold rolled steel bars - up 8.1 percent, €184.85 million of cold rolled steel strip - falling by 2.8 percent, €111.75 million of cold drawn wire - declining by 10.77 percent, and €440 million of metal structures and parts - falling by 1.8 percent, all compared to the same period of 2018.
