France's steel product import value down 17.7 percent in January

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in January this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports amounted to a value of €693.13 million, decreasing by 17.7 percent year on year.

During the month in question, France imported €169.5 million of steel pipes and tubes - up 8.5 percent, €34.68 million of cold rolled steel bars - down 26.1 percent, €63.68 million of cold rolled steel strip - rising by four percent, €32.96 million of cold drawn wire - decreasing by 12 percent, and €135.49 million of metal structures and parts - down by 10.9 percent, all compared to the same month of the previous year.
