Finished steel exports from China’s Hebei province fall, but prices increase

According to Hebei Metallurgical Mining Industry Association, in the January-July period, China's Hebei province exported 5,003,200 mt of finished steel, down 4.78 percent year on year. These exports accounted for 17.37 percent of China's total finished steel exports; and the revenue generated with these exports totaled RMB 4.206 billion ($ 657 million), rising by 18.67 percent year on year and accounting for 14.11 percent in domestic export value. Average export prices stood at $840.60/mt, increasing by 24.63 percent year on year.

It is stated that finished steel exports from Hebei this year have been at a good level. However, the export volume proportion in domestic exports fell 4.20 percent year on year.
