Financial costs push ArcelorMittal Brasil into a net loss in 2025

The Brazilian arm of ArcelorMittal announced a consolidated net loss equivalent to $368.507 million in 2025, compared to a net profit of $516.593 million in 2024.

Financial expenses rose to $1.694 billion in 2025 from $992.7 million in 2024, making them the main driver of the loss. The company also cited steel imports priced at dumping levels, mainly from China, as another factor affecting results.

Net sales revenues declined by 7.2 percent to $12.376 billion, production costs declined by 4.56 percent to $11.002 billion, the gross profit declined by 24 percent to $1.374 billion and the operational profit declined by 22.2 percent to $1.104 billion.

By volume, the production of steel products declined by 1.3 percent to 15.140 million mt, while sales declined by 1.3 percent to 14.900 million mt, of which 57 percent was accounted for in the domestic market while 43 percent was exported.
