Final result of AD review on beams imported from Japan
The US Department of Commerce (DOC) on December 30, 2003 initiated changed circumstances review of the anti-dumping duty on structural steel
beams imported from Japanese producer Yamato Steel Corp Ltd, successor-in-interest of Yamato Kogyo. The review was initiated to determine whether Yamato Steel Corp Ltd is the successor company of Yamato Kogyo and whether Yamato Steel Corp Ltd should be entitled to the same cash deposit to which Yamato Kogyo was entitled.
DOC on May 14, 2004 published preliminary results of this review. DOC preliminarily determined that changes in the ownership had not significantly changed the company's management,
production facilities, supplier relationships and customer base. Accordingly, Yamato Steel would be subjected to the same anti-dumping duty treatment as Yamato Kogyo, i.e 0% anti-dumping duty cash deposit rate.
As a final result of this review, DOC determined not to make any changes in the preliminary results. Accordingly, Yamato Steel will retain the same antidumping duty cash deposit rate assigned to Yamato Kogyo, which was announced as 0% in the preliminary results.
