Swiss-headquartered resources company Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced that in the third quarter of the current year its overall iron ore pellet production decreased by 2.4 percent quarter on quarter to 2.86 million mt.
In the third quarter, Ferrexpo's pellet production from its own raw materials increased by 0.7 percent compared to the previous quarter, amounting to 2.8 million mt, while its pellet production from third party concentrate stood at 60,510 mt, falling 59.8 percent compared to the second quarter of this year.
Meanwhile, in the first nine months of the current year, Ferrexpo's overall iron ore pellet production increased by 5.1 percent year on year to 8.67 million mt. The company’s pellet production from its own raw materials increased by 3.1 percent to 8.3 million mt, while its pellet production from third party concentrate increased by 81.5 percent to 373,280 mt, both compared to the same period of 2014.
