Swiss-headquartered resources company Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced its production results for November and for the first eleven months of 2010.

Accordingly, in January-November this year, the company registered a 2.3 percent increase year on year in its iron ore production to 26.47 million metric tons, while its concentrate production saw a seven percent rise to about 10.3 million metric tons.

During the given period, Ferrexpo's pellet production (from its own raw materials) increased by 5.3 percent year on year to about 8.263 million metric tons. The company also processed 933,700 metric tons of pellets from purchased raw materials, bringing its overall pellet output to 9.196 million metric tons - up 15 percent year on year, as it continued to produce at full capacity to meet ongoing higher demand from steelmakers.

In November this year, Ferrexpo's pellet production (from its own raw materials) was at the level of previous months, i.e. 760,800 mt, while its pellet production from purchased raw materials went down by 23.8 percent month on month to 99,200 mt, thus leading to a 3.5 percent drop month on month in the company's overall November pellet output, which amounted to 860,000 mt - up 8.6 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in November, the company's iron ore output went down by 5.4 percent and its concentrate production decreased by 1.5 percent, both compared to the previous month. The respective figures in metric tons were 2.375 million and 947,000.
