The UK-based company Ferrexpo, which focuses on Ukrainian iron ore assets, has issued the production results for its main iron ore subsidiary Poltava GOK for the first half of 2007.
According to the company release, in the first half of 2007 Poltava GOK saw a 15 percent increase in its iron ore output, an 18 percent rise in its concentrate output and a 19 percent increase in its pellets output year on year. The respective figures in metric tons were 14.5 million, 5.3 million, and 4.7 million.
Commenting on the results, Chief Operating Officer of Ferrexpo, Mr. Viktor Lotous, stated that based on the results it can be said that Poltava GOK continues to be the leader in the Ukrainian pellets market.
Regarding their future strategy, Mr. Lotous said that the company will continue to provide the basis for stable growth in pellet production and the desired quality improvement.
