Swiss-headquartered company Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced its production results for November and for the first eleven months of 2009.
Accordingly, in the January-November period the company registered a 1.3 percent increase year on year in its iron ore production to 25.89 million metric tons, while its concentrate production saw a 0.5 percent fall to 9.62 million metric tons.
During the given period, Ferrexpo's pellet production (from its own raw materials) decreased by 1.4 percent year on year to about 7.85 million metric tons. The company also processed 147,000 mt of pellets from purchased raw materials, bringing its overall pellet output to about eight million mt - down 4.4 percent year on year.
In November this year, Ferrexpo's pellet production (from its own raw materials) was at full capacity, but registered a decrease of 1.9 percent month on month to 730,900 mt. On the other hand, its pellet production from purchased raw materials increased by 52.4 percent month on month to 61,100 mt, thus leading to a 0.9 percent increase month on month in the company's overall November pellet output, which amounted to 792,000 mt - up 55.2 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in November, the company's iron ore output went down by 4.3 percent, while its concentrate production decreased slightly, by one percent, compared to the previous month. The respective figures in metric tons were 2.445 million and 924,800.
