Russian mining and steelmaking company Evraz Group has announced its production results for the third quarter of the current year, stating that its crude steel production increased by 5.9 percent to 3.5 million mt compared to the second quarter, primarily following the completion of capital repairs at EVRAZ DMZ’ oxygen-converter plant and the ramp-up of EVRAZ Regina. In the third quarter this year, the company's pig iron production increased by 1.2 percent to 2.83 million mt, its finished steel production rose by 1.1 percent to 1.92 million mt and coke production went up by 35.6 percent to 232,000 mt, all quarter on quarter.

In the third quarter of this year, the company’s production of construction products increased by six percent to 1.02 million mt, following a seasonal upturn in demand, while its railway products production declined by 9.8 percent to 370,000 mt due to planned capital repairs at Russian facilities and planned downtime for maintenance in North America, and its flat steel production decreased by 9.3 percent to 189,000 mt, mostly following a planned maintenance outage in North America, all compared to the second quarter of the current year.

Meanwhile, in North America, Evraz’s production of tubular products, including large diameter (LD) pipes, oil country tubular goods (OCTG) and small diameter line pipes, reached 189,000 mt, rising by 18.5 percent quarter on quarter, as a result of higher steel availability after a planned outage at Evraz Regina and strong demand recovery in OCTG.
