In May this year, Evraz UGOK (Southern Ore Mining and Processing Enterprise), a subsidiary of Russian mining and steel producing company Evraz Group, increased its iron ore concentrate production by 14.6 percent compared to May 2010, to 876,000 mt. Its output of agglomerate in the given period declined by 4.9 percent year on year to 138,900 mt.
In the January-May period of the current year, Evraz UGOK saw a 15 percent increase in its iron ore concentrate production to 4.165 million mt, but a 15.5 percent decrease in its agglomerate production to 746,900 mt - both on year-on-year basis.
