Evraz Holding among 19 bidding for Vitkovice Steel

Russian steel producer Evraz Holding confirmed that it submitted an offer to participate in the upcoming privatization tender for Czech steel producer Vitkovice Steel (VS). As previously reported by SteelOrbis, Russian steel producer Severstal, Ukrainian Industrial Union of Donbass (UID), Czech steel producer Trinecke Zelezarny (TZ), the Czech-Slovak investment company Penta, Iran's Safa Industrial Holdings, Luxembourg-based steel producer Arcelor, and Ispat India subsidiary Global Infrastructure Holdings Ltd (GIHL) are among 19 companies that expressed interest in the 99% state-owned steel producer VS. The registration deadline expired on January 31, 2005, and the deadline for final bids has not been set yet. The tender is expected to generate CZK 4-4.5 billion ($173-195 million).
