Annual inflation in the euro area was 2.2 percent in November this year, down from 2.5 percent in October, according to a report released by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities. In November 2011, the annual inflation rate was 3.0 percent. Meanwhile, monthly inflation was -0.2 percent in November this year.
Meanwhile, in the European Union (EU-27) annual inflation was 2.4 percent in November, down from 2.6 percent recorded in October. In the same month of the previous year, the annual inflation rate was registered as 3.3 percent, while monthly inflation was -0.1 percent in November this year.
In November this year, annual inflation fell in 24 states, rose in one and remained stable in one state, compared with September 2012. In November, the lowest annual inflation rates in the European Union were observed in Greece with 0.4 percent, in Sweden with 0.8 percent and in Cyprus with 1.4 percent, while the highest were seen in Hungary with 5.3 percent, in Romania with 4.4 percent and in Estonia with 3.8 percent.
The lowest 12-month averages up to the end of November 2012 were registered in Sweden at 0.9 percent, in Greece with 1.2 percent and in Ireland with 1.9 percent, while the highest were recorded in Hungary with 5.6 percent, in Estonia with 4.3 percent and in Poland with 3.9 percent.
