EU may further raise import quotas of Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan
The European Union (EU) may again increase the steel quotas of Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, by approximately 300,000 mt, due to its enlargement in 2007. With Romania's and Bulgaria's accession to the EU in January 2007, the steel quota for the CIS states may be raised by the amount previously imported by the new member states, i.e., by 300,000 mt.
