EU extends probe into Mittal bid for Arcelor

The European Commission said today that it extended its probe into Mittal Steel bid for Arcelor by two weeks until June 7. The original deadline was May 19. Sources report that the commission has extended the investigations to study commitments Mittal has made to resolve antitrust problems.
