According to the European steel association EUROFER, in September this year European Union (EU-27) flat steel exports totaled 1.385 million mt, while long steel exports amounted to 894,000 mt. Accordingly, overall EU-27 finished steel exports in September totaled 2.279 million mt, down two percent month on month and decreasing by 1.7 percent year on year. The year-on-year decrease in EU flat steel exports in September followed five consecutive months of year-on-year growth, with the highest year-to-date monthly figure recorded in August. On the other hand, in September there was a slowdown in the increase rate of long steel exports, though the year-on-year variation was still slightly positive.
