On June 14, Turkey's largest steelmaking group Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (Erdemir) announced its decision to implement a voluntary redundancy incentive within the framework of its long-standing ‘Human Resources Strategies and Continuous Improvement Works and Planning'.

All the personnel working at Erdemir, whether they are entitled to a pension or not and including personnel paid on monthly and hourly basis and as well as contracted personnel, will be able to benefit from this incentive. Within the scope of the incentive, Erdemir will make additional payments to the personnel who want to leave the company of their own accord, on top of the severance and notice payments they are legally entitled to.
