Employment in Turkish industry up 2.2 percent in Q3 over Q2

Employment in general industry in Turkey in the third quarter of 2010 grew 5.5 percent year on year and was up 2.2 percent over the previous quarter, according to information provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).

Meanwhile, in the given period employment in Turkey's basic metal industry increased 6 percent compared to the same period of the last year and was up 4.3 percent quarter on quarter. Employment in manufacture of articles of steel, excluding machinery and parts, on the other hand, rose 7.5 percent year on year and 2.8 percent quarter on quarter.
