Dofasco starts the expansion of finishing division

Canadian steel producer Dofasco Inc. started the first phase of 5 year program to expand its finishing division at Hamilton steel facility in Ontario during the second half of 2003. The company will invest C$700 million (approx. $500 million) for this project. With this program, the company will enhance quality and product mix, reduce costs and improve customer service. According to successful second quarter results, Dofasco is also planning to reconstruct the No. 2 blast furnace.
