Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after F. Dzerzhinsky (DMKD), a subsidiary of the Ukrainian steelmaker Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD), plans to complete the construction of its new continuous billet caster No. 3 by the end of the first half of this year.
Accordingly, the new 1.7 million mt capacity continuous caster No. 3 will allow DMKD to produce commercial billet: both square (of sizes between 130 x 130 mm and 200 x 200 mm) and round. The equipment for the new concaster is being supplied by Austria-based plantmaker Siemens VAI.
