Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after F. Dzerzhinsky (DMKD), a subsidiary of the Ukrainian steelmaker Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD), has started preparations for the commissioning of its new seven-stranded continuous billet caster No. 3, which is expected to be started up by the end of the first quarter of this year.

Accordingly, the new 1.7 million mt capacity continuous caster No. 3 will allow DMKD to produce commercial billet: both square (in a size range of 130-200 mm) and round. The equipment for the new concaster is being supplied by Austria-based plantmaker Siemens VAI.
