Through January-May 2005, 37 steel enterprises in China contracted for 2.53 million tons of steel products for export-oriented processing trade, up 27.51% year on year, and they actually delivered 2.48 million tons, up 30.12% year on year. Among the total, the delivery quantity of container plate accounted for 1.5 million tons, medium plate 279'900 tons and HR sheet/coil 106'000 tons. The overall flat products totaled 1.89 million tons, while the delivery quantity of wire rods reached 394'900 tons. The top ten steel enterprises in terms of delivery quantity through January – May 2005 are Anshan Steel with 559'500 tons, Guangzhou Steel with 468'600 tons, Baosteel with 358'800 tons, Wuhan Steel with 253'700 tons, Benxi Steel with 174'300 tons, Handan Steel with 114'600 tons, Xingtai Steel with 112'100 tons, Maanshan Steel with 59'000 tons, Hangzhou Steel with 50'000 tons and Xingcheng Steel with 48'000 tons. Only in May, 37 steel companies totally delivered 550'100 tons of steel products for export-oriented processing trade. The top five companies are Guangzhou Steel with 122'900 tons, Anshan Steel with 102'600 tons, Wuhan Steel with 87'300 tons, Baosteel with 82'800 tons and Benxi Steel with 38'700 tons.
