Deadline for Stelco offers is extended

According to the statement released by Hamilton-based steel producer Stelco Inc, Ontario Superior Court of Justice has approved company's application to extend the deadline for the filing of binding offers for Stelco to February 14, 2005. The previously set date was January 31, 2005. The extension is approved due to high level of interest shown by the prospective bidders. Moreover, the court also authorized Stelco to admit two additional bids for Stelpipe Ltd sale although the bids were submitted after the deadline of December 1, 2004.
