Italy-based plantmaker Danieli has announced that it has signed an agreement with Riva Industries for the supply of a new meltshop and caster to be installed in the Medz an Jorf Lasfar industrial area in Morocco.

According to Danieli’s statement, the new plant will produce 130 mm x 130 mm and 200 mm x 200 mm billets with a capacity of 800,000 metric tons per year. The four-strand caster, on the other hand, will produce a large variety of low and medium-carbon grades at high productivity rates, without jeopardizing the quality of the final product.

The commissioning of the new plant is scheduled for mid-2020.
