Daewoo International to build steel plant in Turkmenistan

The Turkmen Ministry of Industry and South Korea-based Daewoo International have signed an agreement for the construction of a steel plant worth $1 billion in Turkmenistan, according to Russian news agency Interfax.

Media reports also indicated that a South Korean consortium led by Hyundai Engineering Co. and LG International Co. has signed deals with Turkmenistan regarding the modernization of the country's oil refinery infrastructure.
