Corus to hike strip prices

Corus Strip Products UK, a unit of Anglo-Dutch steelmaker Corus, announced plans to hike its prices as of January 1, 2006, due to rising costs during 2005. The price increase, which will be around £15 (€22) per ton, will cover hot rolled, cold rolled and hot dip galvanized steel in the UK, as of next year. The move follows another European steelmaker ThyssenKrupp Steel, who announced a price increase of €20 per ton for its flat products as of January 1, 2006.
