Anglo-Dutch steelmaker Corus announced a base price increase of £40/ton ($75/ton) for its heavy plate deliveries to the UK market effective as of July 2, 2006. The steelmaker said that strong demand for reversing mill plate coupled with the rising energy and raw material costs has resulted in a price increase.
