Construction work begins on new Iranian mini-mill

Last week work commenced on the construction of a new mini-mill at Khomein in the province of Markazi, Iran. The mini-mill is to be constructed within two years on an area of eight hectares at the cost of an investment of Rials 300 billion (about $30 million).

The new plant will produce 200,000 mt of billet in its first and also in its second phase. Meanwhile, production of long products - I-beam, angles and rebar - is planned in the third phase.
