Confidence index for Italian construction decreases in August

According to Italy's national statistics office (Istat), in August this year the seasonally adjusted confidence index for the Italian construction section decreased from 83.8 in July to 82, down 2.16 percent. Assessments on order backlog and/or construction plans stood still, while employment expectations dipped.

In August, the index decreased in the field of specialized construction works, down 2.17 percent, and in building construction, down 1.02 percent, but increased in civil engineering, rising by 3.41 percent, all month on month.
