Color coated coil prices keep stable

SteelOrbis Shanghai Color coated coil market was away from turmoil in week 36. The market trading volume and market inventories did not change much compared with last week. Some steel mills issued new ex-factory prices. On September 8, the average market price of 0.476 mm color coated coil increased RMB 23/mt ($3) compared with that on September 1 to RMB 6,450/mt ($812); that of 0.4 mm color coated coil increased RMB 10/mt ($1) to RMB 6,993/mt ($881) and that of 0.286 mm color coated coils imported from Taiwanese Yieh Phui retained RMB 7,975/mt ($1,003) level. Wuhan Iron & Steel Corporation (WISCO) announced RMB 100/mt ($13) decrease for the October ex-factory price of color coated coils, while some other color coated coil makers kept their ex-factory prices stable. Trade volume in the market did not change much compared with last week. The steadiness of new ex-factory prices of some color coated coil makers also added to the stability of the market. Meanwhile, the stability of galvanized coil price, slow increasing of the market demand and low level of color coated coil market inventories also helped color coated coil market prices to keep a good development tendency. The market prices of color coated coils are expected to keep the stable trend with a slight increase.
