Coal transshipments at Russian seaports up five percent in 2010

According to the data issued by Russia's Association of Commercial Sea Ports, in 2010 freight traffic passing through the ports of Russia increased by 5.9 percent year on year to 525.85 million mt. During the period in question, the export cargo handled at Russian ports amounted to about 404.2 million mt - up five percent compared to 2009. 

Meanwhile, in 2010, the transshipment of coal through Russia's ports increased by five percent year on year to 68.7 million mt, while transshipment of ferrous scrap went up by 9.8 percent year on year, amounting to 2.94 million mt.
