Coal inventory at Qinhuangdao port increases in August

In August, the volume of coal arriving via railway at the northern Chinese port of Qinhuangdao dropped slightly compared to the July volume.

Coal delivered to the port of Qinhuangdao via railway in August reached 19.312 million mt, with an average of 0.623 million mt of coal being delivered daily, which is 4.7 percent lower than average daily deliveries in July.

In August, coal inventory at Qinhuangdao port registered an increase. Average daily coal inventory at the port in August was 7.25 million mt, 18.2 percent higher than 6.135 million mt in July. During August the coal inventory level dropped several times, recording a bottom level of 7.068 million mt for the month. Due to difficult weather conditions, the port was closed for some days in August, thereby influencing coal shipments. On August 31, coal inventory at Qinghuangdao port was 7.305 million mt.
